Adventure Guides

Geared to children in grades K-8 and their dads, the program brings together the child and father; focusing on his role in his child's life. Children in grades K-3 are involved as Adventure Explorers and then in grades 4-8 they graduate to the Trailblaz­ers program. Both programs follow the same philosophy: dads spending one-on-one time with their children.

The families become part of a Circle and meet regularly with other families in that Circle. Circles do come together to partici­pate in larger activities. Adventure Explorers have camp outs, go bowling, visit museums and parades. Trailblazers go horse­back riding, snow tubing and go-carting. They also take part in activities that center around community-building. Both groups have an opportunity to perform charitable works.

The program also gives dads time to get together without the children. During these times they act as support for one an­other and also build relationships among themselves.
Cost:   Father & 1 child   $45/year (+$5 each additional child)

Other Member Family Activities

Fourth of July at the Y! - Celebrate Independence Day with your family and friends on July 4. We will have a variety of activities in the pool, gymnasium and outside. Pre-registration will begin two weeks prior to the event. Look for our signs and listen for information in late June.

Healthy Kids Day! - A national YMCA event, this special day will provide families with information about staying healthy and how the YMCA can help your youngster be safe and fit. Watch for information at the front desk. Event will be held on a Saturday in April.

Halloween - Be sure to attend this fabulously fun and freaky event in October. Last year's party was a hit and this year will be just as awesome!

Family Week-Held the week of Thanksgiving, we will offer activities and information focusing on the family. We will also hold a Canned Food Drive to benefit other area families in need.  
Breakfast with Santa - Fun for kids of all ages!  Continental breakfast, goody bag, picture with Santa!  December 15, 2008, $5 per family
