Jr. NFL
Pre-Season Training Camp
Offered for children in 5th through 9th grade
the YMCA's NFL Pre-Season Training Camp program helps kids become not only
better players, but better people as well. We encourage fair play,
positive competition, and family involvement. The camp held Monday
through Thursday, August 4th through 14th is intended to teach kids all
basic elements of football (stance, footwork, technique, and strategy) as
well as introduce elements of strength training and physical conditioning.
Flag Football will also be incorporated into each practice session.
All practice sessions will be planned and administered by experienced
coaches and trainers. Registration fee is $25 and participation is
limited to twenty five in each group on a first come, first served basis.

Girls
Advanced Skills Basketball Clinic
Offered for girls in the 8th through 12th
grade the YMCA's Girls Advanced Skills Basketball Clinic is intended for
participants to gain a better understanding of basketball fundamentals
(ball handling, shooting, defense) as well as help to develop a balanced
approach to strength training, and physical conditioning at a high school
varsity level. All practice sessions will be planned and
administered by experienced coaches. The Clinic will be held July
29th through August 7th, Monday through Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:15
p.m. Registration is open to the first twenty applicants on a
first come first served basis. Registration fee is $25 and includes
a YMCA Youth Basketball jersey. For more information please call

Corporate Cup
Challenge
On
September 8, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. the Greater Peoria Family
YMCA will be hosting the 3rd annual 'Corporate Cup Challenge' at the Pekin
Country Club. This event is open to members as well as non- members
looking for an excuse to golf for a good cause.
Throughout its 160 year history as a charitable organization, the YMCA has
continually evolved to meet the changing needs of the communities and
individuals it serves. Today a new set of issues are calling the
YMCA to act.
