The YMCA Difference

When you become a member of the Greater Peoria Family YMCA, you're setting yourself apart from others.  You are on your way to good health through our practice of caring for your entire being - spirit, mind and body.  And, your money makes a difference....Money collected through membership fees help subsidize our community service programs such as Minority Achievers and Youth Achievers programs.  Through these membership fees, the Greater Peoria Family YMCA can help financially strapped families participate in quality programs at reduced rates (based on sliding fee scale).
If you'd like to learn more about how to donate to these of any of our youth programs, call 692-7361 ext. 230 or email rparker@peoriaymca.org.  For more information on membership, please email rparker@peoriaymca.org or call 692-7631, ext. 200.

Membership Cards

Please be aware that no one is admitted to the YMCA without a valid membership card.  Your assigned card must be scanned to be admitted.  It is important to utilize the card assigned to you with your name on the front.  Using another family member's card is not the same as using your personal, assigned card.  If you have lost your card, a new card will be issued to you for a $5 fee.  Please keep in mind you MUST have a valid membership card to enter the YMCA facility.

Payment Information

YMCA memberships are sold on a month-to-month basis.  Payment may be made in a one-year lump sum or through bank or credit card draft plans.  Payment of the enrollment fee and first month’s dues is required upon joining.  Future payments will be automatically deducted from your bank account or charged to a Mastercard, Visa or Discover.  No refunds are given on membership payment or enrollment fees.  The only exception is for a fully paid yearly membership that submits a medical exemption from a physician.  Members will be given 30 days notice prior to any rate increases.  There is a $20 service fee on all non-sufficient funds checks, bank drafts and monthly credit card rejections.

Membership Cancellation

Members may cancel their membership by completing a Membership Cancellation Request Form at the front desk.  Members must give the YMCA 30 days written notice of cancellation.

If you cancel and reapply again within a 12 month period, you will be required to pay for the entire year in full plus the joiner’s fee applicable or a seasonal membership applicable.

NO REFUNDS ARE ISSUED.

AWAY Program

The Greater Peoria Family YMCA participates in the National YMCA AWAY (Always Welcome At YMCAs) program and the Illinois YMCA membership reciprocity program.   AWAY members are welcome to use our facilities 12 times free per calendar year.  A fee of $5 per visit will be charged after the 12th visit.

The joiner/initiation fee is waived when an active Illinois YMCA member wishes to transfer his/her membership from one Illinois YMCA to another.  However, there is no total  transfer of membership.

Each YMCA develops its own policies for administering the AWAY program.  For that reason, we suggest you contact the YMCA you are visiting ahead of time to verify their policies.  YMCAs that participate in the AWAY program are listed on the YMCA of the USA web site.  Go to www.ymca.net and click on “Find Your Y.”  Participating YMCAs are highlighted.  You may also call 1-888-333-9622 to find the nearest YMCA during your travels.

YMCA Guest Policy

YMCA members are welcome to bring guests.  However,  a member may only bring a total of two guests per visit.  Guests are required to fill out a guest card and to have a photo ID with them.  Guests must be accompanied by a YMCA member or have a guest card.  Each guest MUST have a guest pass to participate in facility activities.  A guest card costs $20.

Please stop at the front desk for a copy of our Guest Policy regarding number of visits, etc.  The policy is subject to change.

Members are responsible for the actions of their guests.

Any damage to the facility or property by their guest will be the responsibility of the member.

Any guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult member.
